COERR Mae Sarieng and Mae Sot Organized Disaster Risk Reduction and Fire Drill

   In November 2019, several training regarding disaster risk reduction and fire fighting and evacuation were organized by COERR Mae Sarieng and COERR Mae Sot. The objectives were to have community realize about how to participate in prevention of fire hazard and loss of lives and properties by using proper management system and equipment.

   COERR Mae Sarieng organized a training on November 15, 2019 for displaced persons in temporary shelters to learn about types of disasters and prevention, especially about fire prevention and fire fighting, theory of fire and nature of fire, and how to extinguish a fire at an initial stages, how to use and maintain fire extinguishers, how to use Incident Command System: ICS that combined a command, control and coordination to have the incident finish with less or no loss at all. There were 173 participants of 58 female and 115 male in Mae Lama Luang and 100 participants of 37 female and 63 male in Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter.

Activity in Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter, Mae Hong Son Province

   COERR Mae Sot deem it necessary to have the community participation in disaster risk reduction by mean of prevention, relief and assistance. Training for planning and relief operation including fire fighting demonstration were launched in Ban Umpiem and Ban Nupo Temporary Shelters in November 2019.

Disaster Risk Reduction Training focusing on situation planning, drill and relief was organized in Umpiem during
November 11-12, 2019 in which 181 displaced persons of 21 female and 160 male participated.

A latest fire prevention training and drill was organized in Nupo on November 21,
2019 in which 62 people: 26 female and 36 male participated.
